What is Holafly’s Monthly Global Plan?
Holafly’s new product, Holafly Plans, is a monthly eSIM plan that helps long-term travellers stay connected everywhere they go, all the time. It covers over 160 destinations and operates on a monthly basis that can be cancelled anytime.

Unlimited Plan vs Light Plan
Holafly’s monthly global plan has two different options. The Unlimited Plan has unlimited data, without any limits on usage and speed. This way you can forget about monitoring or topping up your data along the way.
The Light Plan version has a limit of 25GB per month. While it costs less than the unlimited plan, you’ll have to be a bit more careful with how much data you use.

“Always On” Feature: What Does it Mean?
Holafly’s monthly plans also have a new feature called “Always On”. This means that even when you cancel or your main plan ends, you’ll still keep 1GB of data per month for life. With coverage in over 70 destinations, it means you’ll always have backup emergency data available even if you never use Holafly again.

Who Is It For?
The new Holafly monthly Plans are ideal for those who are travelling long term (more than a month) and/or to multiple countries. It’s especially ideal for digital nomads, especially with the unlimited data plan, as you can stay connected at all times and never have to monitor how much data you’re using. I’ve found it frustrating sometimes when my data has run out or expired after 30 days with a local SIM and I’ve had to find a shop to top it up. Would I Recommend the Holafly Monthly Global Plans?
If you’re going to be travelling to multiple countries, I would definitely recommend the Holafly monthly Plans. It saves so much hassle in getting different SIM cards for each country you visit, which can be time-consuming and confusing. Plus, the unlimited data option means you’ll likely get good value for money, especially if you compare it to getting a new SIM and data package in every destination.
Even if you’re not travelling around the whole world, I still think it’s a worthwhile option for anyone travelling for more than a month. The unlimited Holafly Plan at US$64.90 per month works out much more cost effective than some of Holafly’s regional eSIMs and individual country eSIMs over 30 days.
If you take my hot tip, I’d highly recommend comparing Holafly’s monthly global plan to any other eSIM, and you’ll probably find that it works out better, especially with the added convenience.
The only caveat I would say is that if you’re planning on spending many months in just one country, then a local SIM would likely work out cheaper in some countries, particularly in Asia. However, if you’re moving from one place to another frequently, then a monthly subscription eSIM plan will be better suited.
Final Thoughts
After using Holafly eSIMs for some of my backpacking trips last year, I can certainly see how convenient they are for long-term travellers. However, now with their new monthly global plan, it makes it even easier to stay connected at all times.
