It’s undoubtedly one of the most appealing towns in Victoria, with oak tree-lined streets, the Ovens River running right through town, towering alpine mountains on the outskirts, and an incredible variety of activities on offer.

It attracts people from all over the country. You can easily go from a day of hiking or mountain biking to a picnic on the river and wine tasting at a local vineyard. Whether you’re a foodie, an adventurer, thrill seeker, or family-oriented traveller, you’ll likely fall in love with Bright.

It’s popular as a weekend mountain getaway, school holiday destination, and romantic retreat, meaning that there’s accommodation in Bright to suit every type of trip.

Bright Riverside Holiday Park is one of the many caravan parks in Bright. However, this one also offers some pretty unique accommodation aside from the usual caravan and camping sites.

Their one-bedroom Alpine Pods are cute studio style cabins perfect for a romantic weekend away or a solo adventure. Each pod features a queen bed, small kitchenette, TV and small bathroom, along with an outside deck.

If you’re travelling with a bigger group, then the holiday park also have two and three bedroom cottages and villas on the riverfront that are fully self-contained and perfect for families. Otherwise, the usual powered and unpowered camping sites are great for those travelling in a van, like me.

The holiday park is located right on the Ovens River across from Howitt Park, so it’s as close to town as you can get.

Definitely one of the most luxurious places to stay in Bright, The View is where you’ll want to stay if you’re willing to splurge on a weekend away. The modern one-bedroom apartment is just outside of the town centre, with stunning mountain views from the deck.

It has large floor to ceiling windows across the front of the apartment, meaning you can soak in the surrounding landscape from the bed, lounge, dining, and free-standing bath. With fully self-contained amenities, you’ll be able to make yourself at home and walk or cycle into town whenever you please.

It might be the most expensive option on this list, but definitely a worthy splurge for a special occasion.
